While we are so proud of the difference our nonprofit has made in the lives of so many families in Boone County over the past 39 years, our organization has been overwhelmed by an exponential growth in homeowner applications since just last year. Our current resources allow us to build three homes each year, but this build pace puts some of our applicants 5-6 years out from the transformational change of homeownership.

 

After much consideration and prayer, we have decided to pause our monthly Homeowner Orientation meetings and intake of new homeowner applications until further notice. It has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, but we feel that this pause is necessary in order for both our mentors and budget coaches to provide our current applicants with the individual attention and resources that they each deserve to become successful homeowners.

 

It is clear that our county is in need of affordable housing solutions for our neighbors now more than ever. We will lift this application suspension as soon as we are able. Thank you for your understanding.
